"Rfactor not working" message after fresh instal

Guys,

I have a fresh install of rFactor and X-Sim on a PC running Windows 7, dual core duo processor.

rFactor had been working fine for a few weeks and when I first installed X-Sim, it detected rFactor and then rFactor would no longer work. X-Sim extractor seemed to be working fine in Task Manager.

So I removed X-Sim and rFactor, then reinstalled both. RFactor worked fine again and as soon as I completed the install of X-Sim and started extractor, then tried to restart rFactor, the same error message came up again.

I have searched through the forums but nothing jumps out.

Any ideas from anyone?

Hi Bobbuilt,

Thanks for that. Turns out I forgot to reboot after setting UAC. Have resolved that issue.

Now I can only get the extractor window up on a new install. After the first time, opening extractor does nothing.

I need to set the IP address for the converter on another PC and can only think that I have to do a fresh install to get it to work.

I'll keep plugging away.

That got me going OK.

It was just a matter of starting things in the right sequence and then pressing the right buttons.

Looks like it's going fine now.

Now to start looking at the next step - processor and controller options.

I have the same problem.

I've instaled rFactor v1.255
I've instaled X-sim
When I start X-sim and clic to play game, when I select the circuit the game close automaticly.

After that rFactor doesn't work anymore even without using X-sim.

Can somebody tell what have I to do?

Why you copy yourself if X-Sim do copy the plugin correctly for you?
Seems you did something wrong with your copy.

I know that Xsim do it. The first time I run the programme I didn't copy the plugin but then I copied to try something different.

I have tried to download rfactor demo from the official page and I have the same problem.

I open xsim xtractor.
I clic on play game
rFactor starts.
When I have to load the circuit the game close automaticly.


What can I do??
