power for mini 6dof

Postby Aahmed » Sun 24. May 2015, 03:37

Hi
i am building mini 6dof platform using the following :

amc1280usb
1x Pololu Micro Serial Servo Controller
6 X standard servo motor

and I didn't find any thing about power source for mini servo motor , maybe this self-evident for every one here but i have no background/ experiences with this

should i use normal power adapter (5v) and connect it to polou controller ? can i you phone charger ? what about AMP ?

or connect power source to amc1280 ?

any information or link that can help is much appreciated

thank you

You will need a small PSU 5-6volts and 1.5 - 2.5 ampere.
Don't go over 6volts as you might damage the electronics in the servo motors.

See how you connect everything here: http://motionsim.freeforums.net/thread/7/faq-rc-servos

You don't need to connect power to the AMC1280USB, just the USB cable. The power for the mini servos is connected on the pololu mini servo controller.

Thanks
