How to set up 2 individual bassshakers (f/r) ?

Postby napsterium » Sun 20. Mar 2016, 11:34

Dear community,

I would like to use 2 individual bassshaker with x-sim. How do I have to set up x-sim to achieve a interface setting for FRONT and REAR shakers?
Searched x-sim forum, but could not find a proper answer.

My current status ...

HARDWARE SETUP:
2. sound card realtek HD Audio with front and rear speaker setup (front speaker --> front shaker / rear speaker --> rear shaker).
Setup in audio is working (rear is rear / front is front and both shakers vibrate individualle when test sounds are fired).

SOFTWARE SETUP:
Set up in x-sim with BASSSHAKER.dll recognizes front speaker --> front shaker
My problem is now, that as by now I was not able to find a way, how to set up the REAR SPEAKER properly in x-sim.
I´ve tried to copy BASSSHAKER.dll and rename it, so my plan was to set up 2. shaker in x-sim with rear setup.
That did not work, is in x-sim only front shakers had been fired with sound.

Does anybody of you have a nice idea, how to get it work??
Apreciate your feedback!

There is a very old replacement which can support 8 channel or less soundcards. It did not leave the beta because of too less tester with such soundcards.
If you copy the plugin you need two soundcards, you may use a USB soundcard dongle or something like this.
If a answer is correct or did help you for a solution, please use the solve button.

Hi sirnoname,

Thanks for your quick reply.

Is there really no solution to use different channels (most cards support more than 5 channels, even onboard cards), instead of 2 individual soundcards? Using the existing channels on the side soundcard would be much more comfortable. It works quite good with a another program (*) I've used as by * My intention to use x-sim was, to have more flexibility.

Or maybe I've misunderstood your reply. If you mean, that 2 soundcards are mandatory in respect to one for sound and the other one for "vibration" than it would be cool to be part of that beta plug-in. I do already use 3 soundcards (one hifi for music mixing, one usb dongle for 3d-headset and one on-board for vibration [with *]).

Curious about further proposals and comments. Is that plug-in you meant, used to support 1 soundcard with different channels front/rear or even in combinition with L/R for each individual basshaker :?:

That would be fantastic :!: let me be your beta tester :D

I'd be on-board to try it out as well as I just asked pretty much the same question in another thread elsewhere. I know there is software that can handle multiple audio channels to individual shakers. So far I've spent a grand total of $5 on my cockpit setup, so I'm trying to keep going the cheap route if possible and liked XSim for that reason. I haven't bought my shakers yet, but I wanted to make sure I could do what I actually wanted before buying 2 of them only to find out I can't run them individually. I wasn't going front/rear in my setup, but rather one vertically mounted on the seat and one horizontally.
