I need some help?

Postby MattyB » Sat 8. Dec 2012, 12:21

Not sure where to post my question so I appologise in advance if im in the wrong area...

I purchased a second-hand Frex Simcon Motion System with all the bits and pieces, I have read all I can about using x-sim software and have ordered two RS485 adapters and expect them here in Australia within a couple of weeks.

In the interim, I think Ive set up my rig and actuators up correctly, Ive powered them up and very solid non-moving state is evident.

Question- can someone who knows, please explain what connection I should have running directly from the SimCon Base to the PC?
I have the cable end being a PS2 type connector!
Have I received all cables or am I missing a PS2 to USB converter cable or something?

Really not sure on what I should have there, Ive Googled and been to the FrexGP forums but that guy over their is a muppet, he deleted my question...

Any help would be great.

MattyB

Ok, ignore above post...

I have just searched and found that I need a SimCon Base (which I thought I had), I have the SimCon Motion that plugs into the base...

Now, Im not prepared to spend more money in the Frex shop as I have a reserved opinion on how they do business!
Can someone best direct me to an easy step by step instruction on how to transfer to X-Sim and what parts ill need?

Thanks for your help...

you are in the right area, but I will have to let another member whom has had experience with these actuators help you.

Did you look at this thread?:

I'm not a Frex expert but think this topic fits to replace a "simcon base".

The hardware box was not open source and did not get any support so it is completely removed.
