Like I said in the Introduce yourself post, i'm doing a "kind of" motion simulator for my end-of-study project (projet de fin d'étude).
Before coming on this forum, I was thinking of using an Arduino controller since one off my collegues had one to lend me.
Althought from what I've read here, jrk's seems the way to go.
However, i'm thinking of using Motion Dynamics worm gear motor 12v 180 rpm (any inputs on quality??) because I need a Lotttttt of torque and quite good speed.
Since I'll spend a lot of time in the stalled region (don't mind grilling it, proof of concept only) I will be drawing quite some amps.
I'm afraid to grill the JRKs, and I found those
http://www.canakit.com/50a-dc-pwm-motor ... oller.html
They have a PIC microcontroller but they don't seem to be programmable nor do they look like you can plug them in any PC.
Do you think you could use a fast usb pluggable microcontroller like the jrk's (without PMW) to control those and the motors?
Or I'm afraid for nothing and a jrk will handle a motion dynamics worm gear 12v motor?
Thanks for you're help!
Question aside: I need torque control (or force control), my solution, since i'm more mechanical engineering than electrical, is to use a load cell for feedback. I've read here about draw current control. How is it possible with a PWM to set a current for a given torque? Any info will greatly help me, reduce complexity and price!!
