Problem with FTISP for AMC1.6 1.1e.zip

Postby eldeejay » Mon 17. Sep 2012, 11:12

Good morning to all, I connected my version of the AMC1.6 at simulation soft (X-sim vers. 2) and firmware resets constantly when runs the simulations. I´m using rFactor and Sender & Profiler was configured using 2 Axis.

I am using the latest firmware ---> FTISP for AMC1.6 1.1e.zip "Added 10% dead zone on end positions of POT (25/Jul/2012)"

When runs the simulations and prifiler sends data by USB to AMC positioning movement begins engines with respect to the position of the potentiomethers but the firmware 1.1e malfunctions, the LCD displays noises and occur resets in the system.

Any idea what is happening to me? Could you help me with this problem?

I'm on the verge of completing the project, I need to solve this problem.
Thanks in advance.
Greetings from Spain

Reason: You are referring to X-Sim 2 in your post, beware that this outdated version of the software is not supported on this forum!

Update,
The problem occurs using FT232RL Breakout from Sparkfun.
But I tried to use UM232R Breakout module from FTDI manufacturer and seems it all works perfectly. The firmware works fine, the LCD display shows the correct data and the data sent by the profiler software to AMC apparently interpreted well.

Therefore, I understand that the problem is not in the firmware, the problem is in the USB/UART interface (breakout board Sparkfun FT232RL)

Regards.

The UM232R has better noise suppression that allows better signal stability with such overclocked systems like the AMC1.6

You can still use the Sparkfun FT232RL by downgrading the crystal speed of the AMC1.6 to 18.432Mhz. I posted a new firmware for that just today. ;)

Best Regards,

Good morning Mr. Tronicgr, from connecting the module FTDI Breakout UM232R manufacturer I have not have problems with communication apparently.

Anyway, I'll download the newly released firmware (Firmware v1.1g) and test it.

Thank you for your dedication and support.
