posible alternative to jrk12v12???

Postby ferslash » Wed 22. Aug 2012, 05:28

hi folks i have a question for the experts:

Some days ago, following the advise of motionDave i just ordered a couple of jrk 12v12 from pololu, i choosed this cards because motiondave told me that this is the easiest way, and since i dont know anything about electronics, and constructing the tanos card wold be a problem to me.

so... considering that jrk´s costs $99 each.... the question is this,

can i use pololu jrk 21v3 at a price of $51.95, http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/1394 inted of the clasic jrk 12v12???

i was curious about it, and the only difference i have found is the amperage... the jrk 21v3 only supports 3 amp... insted of the powerfull pololu jrk12v12 that support a lot more of amperage.

so... if i use the card with small amperage and in the outpot port i connect a relay that drives the motor at the desired hier amperage?

could it be done?
this operation afects the final performance of the sim?
some one has tryed?

please, let me know your comments :P

best regards from mexico

Agreed with Bob, the jrk is the done deal, then next is the AMC once it is sorted.
I run my JRKS at 13.8v and 30 amps continuous, no probs with heat sink and fan cooling.
It will be the best $99 per board you will spend.

The next up is the AMC as it will control more h-bridges.
