Thanks Thanos, dont worry you told me the you were busy, thats way I try varius channels, I will study your tip, Thank you again.

Thank you, too, Telfel , so you were RC enthusist, too. I used to build multicopters thats way knowladge about mini servos is not to much for me. Thank you for your tip, I will concider if I not resolved with Thanos electronic tip.

Regards.

Hi futuresims,

Thanks for sharing this project. It's great to get experiment with 6DOF / Steward platform on the desk without having to build the full size thing.

oh yes, Please share ;)

Hey Guys,

I'm pretty new to all this so you'll have to forgive me if im asking stupid questions...
I've been following this fantastic guide as something to get me started in understanding how everything works as i would like to build a 6dof sim in the not too distant future.
So far ive built the sim rig and had hooked up the arduino but seem to be having a problem with the code. I copied the code across from the 1st post cause i couldn't find the .ino file.. and when i hit verify it came up with 3 errors:

_6DOF_Motion_Code:3: error: 'oat' does not name a type
_6DOF_Motion_Code:6: error: expected unqualified-id before ',' token
_6DOF_Motion_Code:7: error: expected constructor, destructor, or type conversion before '=' token

Any ideas on how i can fix it and get it running?
I only have very limited knowledge of programming but am trying to learn.

Also i see that most people use Thanos's AMB controller to link this with x-sim because its fast and better but is there any way to do it with the arduino board just for testing purposes?

Cheers guys, i really appreciate any help you can give me on this.

Hmm,

This piece of code in the start of this thread will not work with the 6DOF plugin for x-sim. There are several reason:

1. Serial speed
The arduino code requires 9.6 kbps
The 6DOF plugin uses 250 kbps (which the AMC1280USB can handle).

2. Datatype
The arduino code requires 8-bit values.
The 6DOF plugin outputs packets of 16-bit values and only if the interface is autodetected on the other end (AMC1280USB compatible).

3. Data format
The arduino code reads time values between positions
The 6DOF plugin outputs destination positions.

Thanos

Do you have an eps file for the servo arms?

Hi I'v build this 6dof as instructed.
I connected servos to Arduino uno. I pasted code to uno, but
I get no movement, servos just don't move. Please advise
if the code in this instructions is valid and OK

Never tried that arduino code. I use my own ide environment that is NOT based in arduino for the amc1280usb....
