Hi Speedy,

Great job ! Did the drivers got their driving licence ?

You use AC motors with inverters , I suppose. What board did you use to drive them? ;)

Hi Vic:
As you may remember ...
http://www.x-sim.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=237
It is an AVR controller with ATMEGA8535,USB,ALE/FW

And not to invent the wheel from the beginning ...So the HW story based and started on Thanos AMC1.5 AVR cause I didn't find ATMEGA644 locally here in Egypt to build the 1.6 USB ... and wanted to modify it to become USB interface like the 1.6 Board ... because no more than one serial interface in today's computers/laptops to make 4DOF with 2 boards connected to the USO in the x-sim SW ... thanks to Prilad for his support support .

So, I used the alternative Prilad's FW to manage to get through this [ as per the above link ] ...
And with his big help he found the problem and added the correct programming fuses to suite this option ... I know it may be a simple principle for a programmer "not me" to do ... but it shows that he has a leading help attitude and he is very good with strong heart and has the big peace to handle whatever comes next of problems ...
And second thing I guess he opened a window to pick and match all needed hardware for every one and he enjoy that ... unlike Apple .

Then, here comes the good part ... calibration, safety, reversing,.. options I found in his controlling SW satisfying every needs ...
I'm still using these options to tilt the simulator for oiling " maintenance positions " or measuring something down under the chair base ... you don't have to be online :?:

All information's needed is in the first page of the above link.

Good day every one ...

I guess that this Planetary Drive is an excellent way for using small fast motors moving a big inertia load regarding not supporting it's wight ...

so the load can be wired like the scanner unit in any copy machine and driven easily via pulleys .
