3DOF Sim with Z-rotation

Postby Pitti » Sat 5. Oct 2013, 12:34

Hello

The motion sim from value1 (he was a great help for me) inspired me to design a heli sim with z-rotation. Here we go with a first try but it has much room for improvement.

I'm very interested in what you think, your opinion is desired!

Hi Peter
This looks awesome! It will be fun to fly :) Please be aware that if your axis don't go through the centre of gravity you'll need *very* strong motors. That's the reason why I had to redesign my simulator (see first pictures vs final sim)

thx! The above-mentioned issue is a fact, the 12/24v worm gear motors are not powerful enough especially if the sim is directly driven. But where there's a will, there's a way...I hope so :)

Und das Problem mit der Signalübertragung beim 360° Motion Simulator ist mit den Schleifringen auch gelöst:

So here we go with a new design. The 360° option is to complicated and also to big. The new solution is my favourite design for now.

Hi, for rotation I would recommend only 3 wheels. In that che each wheel is a contact point.
You can have a look to my simulator, that is the solution I chose

Nice work! As I wrote above no 360° option for now. At least this causes more problems than I can solve.

Hello,
I would like to build a conceptually similar to the simulator as Pitti.
I have selected three of these AC motors which add a worm gear.
2KW AC Servo Motor Drive CNC Kit 7.7NM 220V 2500R/Min NEMA52 Food Processing - on ebay
But I am a beginner and amateur electrician.
Please advice what interface and a control card should I use in conjunction with x-sim? There are some simple solutions to the existing plugin?
Please any advice. thank you very much
