"Baby MS-X-R" my new dynamic simulator project !

Postby Riton » Thu 20. Sep 2012, 22:13

The "Baby MS-X-R" concept:

Build a simulator "low cost".
I would try to make sure it is not too expensive, and also that you can use any motors / actuators to move.
My goal, trying to make a simulator with "finishing business" for a price of 1000 € retail price. (Hard ...)
There will be a seat in the tariff, the simulator will be upgradable to 3 or 4 engines DBOX kind.
I am considering an option removable and convertible FREX design.
I also hope that the elements are of high quality.

The inspiration is that of its big brother MS-X-R, there will be any changes made to MS-XR, but also options such as seat adjustment rails / wheel / pedals / center console.
Options, due to the weight and price, for cons, I plan settings "manual" without slides.

Although this is a first draft, the result will be different ...

I would like to find ways to make it accessible dynamic simulation.
This simulator could be a turnkey basis, or a kit for changing a player without special knowledge that would make it fun without having to put in the hands of his craft simulator.
Simulator or it may simply be an evolutionary structure kit for someone wanting to get himself a simulator with the components of their choice, motors, actuators, electronics ....
everything is possible!

My various tests, my work and tests:
I already tried a lot of solutions.

motor and potentiometer 360 ° without mechanical stops, no breaks!

Experiments with different electronic:

I'm trying to make the Thanos AMC 1.6 USB card , it will be the next test, this card is fully adapted to the concept of "low cost"

Frame design:

the frame is almost finished, I will soon present you the completed simulator!
See you soon! ;)

the future of this simulator is already in preparation

The "Ultimate MS-X-R":

concept:
"Ultimate MS-X-R".
"Baby MS-X-R" to "Ultimate MS-X-R"
the evolution of the project, the following logic:

"Ultimate MS-X-R" can be anything you want!

This new frame concept "Ultimate MS-X-R" is compatible 2DOF/3DOF/4DOF/6DOF . (It may ask that instead of my current cockpit, I keep the base for the moment!).
it is possible to transform the frame to achieve different simulators with the designs that you know:
- "DBOX design" 2/3ou 4 cylinders
- "Force Dynamics design" 3 cylinders.
- Platform "classic" pivot low 2DOF/3DOF / 6 DOF
- 2DOF/3DOF/6DOF platform with top pivot as the "Cruden" for example
- "FREX design".
- And a final design for the moment ever: superimpose two simulators, a "DBOX Design" on a mobile platform.

The frame nearly as you can see, supports all brackets
There are elements to add to the transformations, most important, for a simulator as "Force Dynamics design" for example.
Adding a foot or gimbal bracket is removed.
Adding different media jacks. Example: cylinder type DBOX media or media-type or Cruden Force dynamics (even media) is screwed to the chassis.
The shape of the chassis allows attachment points for all these styles simulator, the geometry is made for all simulation.

once the baby MS-X-R finished I will present this future project.

Nice work! Do you think you will be able to get it finished with this budget?

Interesting project!

I'm especially curious if you can meet your budget!

looking at myself I have kept track of all my costs (even incl. screws, paint etc.) and have so far spent € 1.195,- the sim hardware (complete sim incl. electronics, motors + spare etc. but excl. wheel, pedals, PC etc.).

I have done quite some ebay shopping / cheap part scouring so I allready tried to keep my costs as tight as possible.

I do not know ...
I would, but it is difficult.
The seat is expensive! I would like a seat in fiberglass, lighter and more beautiful too.
Engines, electronics .... the price rises quickly to € 1000.
I seen keeping quality elements

For the moment it seems possible, but I will soon redo the accounts

I still have trouble even building a basic frame for under $1000AU.
