I've been currently working on my race build for just over a year with spending at least 7 months of fine adjustments (still lots to do).
I'm running
Windows 10 64bit
48GB ram
I7 3800K @3.60Ghz overclocked to 4.5Ghz
1TB SSD for OS + 2TB SSD for applications etc...
Nvidia Zotac 1080GTX
Might use an old 980ti to run the physics x (undecided)
Corsair Water Cooling for CPU
Waiting for delivery of Water Cooling for GPU
Which is all mounted on the roof behind Perspex
GT Omega Racing Seat
Logitech G27 Wheel
G27 Pedals which are reversed mounted and connected via USB
Thrustmaster THR8 Shifter
Handmade fully axis Handbrake using BMW E90 Leaver
My Button Boxes are an old DJ Controller plus a LPD8 Midi Controller
50"TV's X3 in Nvidia Surround @5900x1080 resolution
37"TV @1080 on the back of the rig for Map, Timings and Dashboard
iPad for Dashboard in rig
Track IR
Buttkicker Gamer 2
Laptop running X-Sim's Converter
7.1 surround sound
Razer Krackon Headset for in rig online communication
Turtle Beach headset for people contacting the person inside the rig
LED Lighting with full colour spectrum
4in1 Air Conditioning, Dehumidifier, Fan and Heater unit
I've built my rig out of
6mm MDF,
2 old office desks one left facing and one right facing
Springs
Vibration Proofing
Lots and lots of bolts, screws and washers
Lots of Chrome and Black Vinyl Wrap
Industrial PC extension leads 8 gang x3
Sweat, tears and pints of blood
The front of the seat is mounted on springs where as the rear of the seat is on high density foam to have a little bit of bounce and movement, also with the aided help of the force feedback from the wheel.
I've Vinly Wrapped in Chrome the internal roof and sides to cover your peripheral vision with Black Vinyl for the rest plus exterior or the rig.
The AC unit was inside the rig but it's designed for a 60m2 office and not a 3m rig, so it was quite noisy and drafty. So I've moved it outside of the rig and placed a fan in its place.
