F5 SIM - Arduino, DIY, Wipers and a lot of fun...

Postby gutoantunes » Fri 11. Dec 2015, 14:59

Hello friends, I am Guto Antunes and I´ll, through this topic, register this new stage of an old project and a new dream.

I am active in virtual racing since the beginning of the GRAND PRIX in ATARI 2600 (198x). I have been through many games and stages over the 36 years, but in 2005 that things started to get more serious with the launch of the FIA GT Racing Game and his late SALEEN S7R. For me it was the perfect combination between car (S7R), track (Anderstorp) and physical game ... (FIA GT @ Anderstorp)

The game stopped being a game and started to come true !!! In pursuit of greater immersion in 2012 bought my cockpit playseat and a new set of steering wheel / pedal, the Thrustmaster F1 T500RS .... In 2013 concluded the stage of 3 monitors and vibration system, until then trough a MDF base.

First Version

3 UW Screens

Well, now it's time for a new upgrade in the project, it´s time to prepare a new base to put the whole set , and I found the perfect piece for this new stage !!!

Ladys and Gentlemans, I´m proud to present, the F5 SIM !!!! The only (project) simulator that will be mounted on a F5 chassis, in the world!

F5

As I was getting used to this new stage of F5SIM project, some ideas began to turn in my head. A very old dream was a MOTION SIMULATOR, but with the surge of the dollar in Brazil, that dream has been to the bottom of the list. For a short time!!!

Presentation of my inicial components:

Arduino UNO

arduino

Arduino MEGA

mega

Motor Bosch 24V 46W

BOSCH

Driver Olimex VNH3SP30

H-bridge

Power Supply 24V 20A

Fonte

The set as a whole will be: 2 power supply 24V 20A, VNH3SP30 2 drivers, 2 motors Bosch F006WMO310 and Arduino MEGA; these are the components used to control and move the chassis!

It changes very little with the structural part (chassis) and the current situation is this:

F5 - Inicio limpeza

Some cuts were made in the structure (side seams, support of pedals, radiator support, mooring points of the fairing, going out ...).

F5 - DD

F5 - DE

We still have many hours of study to put it into practice !!! A big hug and see you soon ...
