I found a nice interactive presentation of how the inverters drive the AC motors, with explanation of the various modes. Its for BLDC motor that are essentially the same as AC drive.

Hi ,

A little point from my project .I finished the motors uper plateform. They all are in place and the designe looks great for me (hope the motion too ;) ).
The distance between 2 motors where you see the ruler is about 58cm.My arms will measure 30cm between up and down platforms and 2 positions for the arms attached to the gearbox output shaft with 8cm and 11cm.

Below a pic :

Platform

All the cables to connect motors to electrical box are ready , just the cables for the sensors are to solder.

And soon the first test unloaded.

This looks really awesome, and is quite a compact design, I really like it!
Can't wait to see it in motion.

Hi ,
Thanks for support !

A new video with the sensor position and direction well setup.

For information to setup correctly this , see the link below and go to bottom page .

http://motionsim.blogspot.com/p/projects.html

And this is the video , the motors are in full speed 2400 rpm and with the gear ratio 105 that means 23rpm gear output shaft.

Hi,

As my uper platform is not yet finished , I builded a provisory wood plateform.I was wanting to test the 6 movements .I seated on it to measure how the motors will get hot and they don't !!
Sure I did not seat on the simulator many hours !

The motors speed is 50% their max speed setup (2400 rpm)

Thanks for the Update Gilles,

It seems that the dimensions are not set correctly in the 6DOF plugin, as I see the surge-sway motion is not flat...
Most likely, you need to increase the arm length dimension and play a little bit with the Top-Base ratio.

If you can't get it right, we should arrange a skype/teamviewer meeting so I calibrate it remotely for you.

Thanks
Thanos
