Thanks Thanos :)

Sorry for all of those keeping an eye out. Life's been really challenging (but in a good way) the last 6 months.
I've managed to get some good time on the project, finally achieving motion.

Here are a couple of extra videos to show you how it's all coming along...

Hi,

great job, i like it.

I just wondering if the ball-joints and the rods are safe enough against fatigue damage (brake, wear, ect).

Did you make any calculation about that?

thank you for posting you project and your help!

Hi Doc!

Thank you very much for sharing your absolute ingenius project.
I have been following your project some time, as I plan on building a Motion platform for arround three years.
I have settled the space issue last year, main Topic is renovation arround the house, set up workshop and create a design
As I have justed sketchup already that is what i am going for in 3d plans.
I am set for a very slow pace as there are higher priorities as a wife and a 3yo future racecar pilot in the house and last but not least a 50 hour workweek.

I beg you for a critical review on your current experience and findings on using this powerful motors and the extreme angles of displacement!
Do you consider them to ad positively and significantly to a pleasureable sim experiance? form your exeriance with your Simulator: what would you go for as Minimum angle of displacement for car racing and flight sims? Also I would like to ask the old DIY question: " what would you change if you where to start all over again? same Motors?

Last: have you published the dimensions of your design or a 3d file for reproduction? I would be most interested even thought my garage is not the right height for such a Monster Motion platform

Pls excuse my bad grammar, english is not my first language but my spanish is even worse :-)
thanks in advance

@doctorD Trying to get in touch with you to ask you about dimensions related to the torque arms you designed for my 6DOF Stewart rig. I tried sending PM's but I don't think they went through as they just sit in my "outbox" and don't show up under sent.

If anyone can help me get in touch with DoctorD, or if anyone here is really good at math related to torque vs. angles (basic Trig) let me know! Now that I'm finally building the rig I'll get a thread going here as well =).

Hi guys,
Been a really, really, really long time since I've been on.
I'm back and ready to answer any questions for any of you guys building rigs of your own, especially now in VR
Managed to get really good results with motion stabilisation with the Vive Pro:
