An excellent and comprehensive description of your build tayeb. After reading it I feel a bit more confident to attempt a build. I've already built a steel framed platform for my wheel, pedals, seat and monitor and I've been racing with that for years, but the method of getting it to move has always eluded me. Now I have found X-Sim and your post, it's time to step it up a notch.

You changed the name in the software to Left and Right in the interface settings
I have
xpid 1.0 com 3 position 1
xpid 1.0 com 3 position 2

Where did you change the name? Open Settings does not work.
I also can't find a working firmware 1.4 zip file. the one on this site gives a invalid zipfile error
