Project gallery added

Postby floriske » Fri 19. Oct 2012, 14:43

After a request by Sirnoname I've been working on a simple project gallery page:

It is listed in the main menu, on the portal page and the side menu of the software page and it:

• list all projects in the "projects in progress" forum with the start date and last post date (with links) sorted by last post date so active topics are always shown first.
• Search for the first attached or included image (included images have priority) and show it next to the details.

So I you have a specific picture of your project you would like to see as gallery image: Make sure it's the first image in your post! (album- external and attached images are allowed)

The page might get some more details over time, but first I'm off for a short holiday next week ;)

I found a slight bug in the menu bar which causes the layout to shift on some devices.

Will fix this asap.

Can you make an easier way for us to upload photos? the modifying the link for the image hosting confuses me.

Upload to the gallery, perhaps sorted in subgalleries.
Make a new text, press the gallery symbol and add the picture in the text.
Only problem: the new inserted picture link is always at the bottom and not at the cursor. You must copy the link to your location.
If a answer is correct or did help you for a solution, please use the solve button.

Have you seen the short gallery tutorial I've written?

By the way: all topics in the project section are automatically added to the gallery including the first image in the first post (no matter if it's internal or external).

Thanks, I found that, I successfully uploaded a photo to the gallery.
Thats now easy for me, I get confused when I have to add [url].blah.blah.....to something I am capable of just copy paste, hence the youtube vid links get left as it, but thanks for changing them.

Here on the forum you don't need the [url] tags.

Simply click on the "gallery" button above the field where you type your message. This will open your personal gallery. All you have to do next is click "insert image into post" to add it to your message.

The [url] tags are only be needed for posting them on other websites. All you have to do there is copy paste the entire sample line in the tutorial and change the "id=139" to the number of the picture in your gallery.

I have updated the gallery a bit more with a submenu to display different categories.
