Problems with Windows 10 (newer Creator Update)

Postby sirnoname » Thu 12. Apr 2018, 22:44

Some news for the users which have Problems with Windows 10.
I got some help to reproduce the problem with loading plugins like Codemaster. The circle does forever. On my side the newest W10 does work with X-Sim.
There is a bug in windows and the command shellexecute which do a simple hangup if used in some situations without a window is displayed.
It seems new Win 10 installations comes with another windows DLL and another shellexecute than updated PC's.
Most part of X-Sim do use this command, so no wonder there are problems.

I will now check if the spring update will solve this bug or if X-Sim has to remove this command and do a workaround.
As workaround you can try older windows versions or you can start the plugin (exe files in plugin folder) before you start X-Sim. In this case the plugin is seen and shellexecute is not used.

Will keep you informed ...

Some other news to the database problems: The provider did give us a new server, the old one did stop by itself. So we will see if it is stable if it runs for more than a month.
If a answer is correct or did help you for a solution, please use the solve button.

Hi Sirnoname,

I would like to ask you for touch support on all x-sim sliders by improving the slider accuracy.

The standard windows sliders behavior is really not a pleasant experience while using touch.
It can be fixed by adding couple lines of code. The solution below works out of the box: ... ider-contr

It costs a couple of minutes of work and could highly improve the software usage for everybody (touch and mouse users).

Best - hexpod.
