helps to set a servo motor via synaptrix

Hello I started a project to make a 6DOF simulator and I am wanting to use some servo motors that already have, them are controlled by their original drive via the serial port.
Is it possible to send a signal from one axis to the serial port and turn this engine?
Would have to have exactly what this work? I thought about programming via sinaptrix,
