Hello.

Gerald here, from the great white north (Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada)

I am putting together a build for a full on, 6dof motion platform to put under my flight sim home cockpit.

Lots of great ideas on this site.... hoping to learn a whole lot more before all my bits n pieces show up in the mail.

Hi All, I stumbled across this DIY Sim community when looking for something completely different. I have been fascinated reading about all of the designs - fantastic stuff, great community!

I am hoping to find the time and money to put together something myself... will keep you updated if anything progresses.

no worries, ask as you need to.
As for joyrider, you can find plans here http://www.acesim.com/main.html , make it from steel and or PVC.

I suggest these control boards http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/1393 , one per motor, 12-16v will run 30 amps continious with heat sink on big chip and fan cooling.

Maybe these motors on the corners of the frame with suitable length levers http://www.motiondynamics.com.au/worm-d ... orque.html or ebay dayton equivalent.
or even something like this http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online ... 0921#Cross , pull the casing off and weld a lever on it, plenty of power, but noisy.

and scan the threads and ask as you need to.
Cheers, David.
