converter IP Address

Postby daliawest » Sat 27. Oct 2012, 14:07

Hi,

I got a new desktop in order to run everything on one pc. Before on my laptop I downloaded x-sm 3 and everything was working fine and was able to log online as you would see my IP address in the converter.

Now in my new Desktop with Windows 7 i loaded the x-sim 3 and when I start the converter my IP address does not show and so my sim wont work.

How can I fix this?

Thanks.

The IP is not shown:
Goto network settings in your control panel, goto adapter settings on the left menu, then top menu extended menu and extended settings.
Move your adapter in the listbox to the first position if you have more than one network card. This is only a reference display feature and do not stop the communication.

No connection:
Take down the firewall to check if you have blocked it.

Normally a running converter is detected automatically by the extractor.
So in your case the IP subaddresses might be different or a simple ping command is not working between your both computers.
i.e. your extractor is 192.168.0.1 and your converter is out of the range with 192.168.1.2 .

Wireless lan is a forbidden setup for a simulator. The delay of the wireless lan will delay your hardware.
Use the ping command, if the delay is bigger than 1ms you made something wrong!

i am only running one pc.

What I was saying is my original installation was on a laptop and the converter and extratror had a ip address. when I got my new pc I remove everything from the laptop and did a fresh install on the new pc and now I have no ip address in the converter.

my new pc is not lan connected to my router it's wireless connect to it. I have sure it's something to do with my new pc not let x-sim in to read my ip address but not sure how to fix this.

If you have any other suggestions let me *

Thanks.

If you use the converter on the same pc as the extractor you have a PC instead of a network symbol in your converter because it is local connected.
There is no network possible. You see a local message in the converter.

hi
If you use a wireless modem it would shows an static ip address instead of a dynamic one . so connect your new Pc with your router and then check the convertor is showing the correct one. what to check details of an ip address try ip-details.com

Hi, thanks for all the answers. I was able to fix the ip address.

Next:

I created a profile for a force. Like your video I run the game do a couple of turns and I can see the data coming in. I stop the game and do the following steps I untick the auto setting and save everything.

Then try the game, I first start the extractor, then I open converter, then click on try to send data, start the game and I click on the start on the converter I get a jerk from the sim then I play the game hardly any movement. If I hit a wall to crash then I get again a little jerk. But if I stay on the track and take regular turns nothing happens.

At first I was think the jrk where not correctly connected so I opened the JRK utilities and try to move each motor from the settings I had same in that utility and everything works fine. So the conclusion that I have is that the converter is not sending any signal or the proper signal to the motor to make it move it right direction.

What are your toughs and what can I do next to test this and to really make it come alive.

Thanks

try manually changing the numbers up or down and test and re-test. Automatic max adjust settings is good for finding a general number, then its up to you to change and fiddle with the numbers in the math section of the forces you are using.
