Can't get lateral movement with xsim2

Postby boons4 » Sat 14. Jul 2012, 15:20

Hi guys,
I am being told I can post xsim2 software questions here also so that everyone start to do this and we make this website popular! I am using xsim for iracing only..so far I am loving xsim software in terms of movement after hard time of leaning how to use...3 full days to be exact! .but no matter how I increase the lateral force the no. Value (actually it is lowering the no. To increase force as I was told) , I can't feel my car tilt right or left during high speed sharp banking on open wheeler...wonder can anyone help advise? Funny thing is that when I 'increase' lateral value..seems like overal road feel become even more prominent and nice stronger feedback! Though I still can't get any lateral movement! I seen on YouTube many people have strong tilting movement that simulate g force using xsim but just can't get it...

I tried use roll to control ..it only make my car pitch up n down more violently.

Anyhow has nice iracing profile pls, send me or guide me k.

Best wishes to this xsim3 forum!

Have you tried adding only the lateral force to your axis to test what it does than?

I had sort of the same problem with x-sim 3, only the last added force was being used properly.

In my case it was caused because I forgot to tick "add result value" instead of "overwrite result value" in the force's settings

But as mentioned this was in x-sim 3 (which I would advise you to use instead of v2)

Hi florisk,
Tks for your reply. You are right I did not test with lateral force alone.. Tks. I go try later. I thought xsim3 must pay to use? As I already blur in xsim2 n just got some force to work I dare not use another new platform now? Or the commands are the same? Tks

No, you don't have to pay to use x-sim3... As long you have internet access its free.

The stage2 key unlock various advanced features that are not mandatory to provide motion with already supported games. And still you can get stage2 key without paying, as long as you present your project in details.

Hi guys, tks for your help and especially Motiondave for his email advise...
i did not invert the lateral force for one of the axis! as i always thought both values on two axis must be identical.... once i invert for one axis the lateral movement is superb... hence i always say there must be a guide.. no one can ever figure this setting out...
Thanks man back to enjoying xsim software and great motion!

BTW guys.. can u all tell me.. the percentage of intensity is actually meant to control what in the maths setting.. To adjust force i was told to adjust the no. hence what is the purpose for the percentage setting then? Tks

the number is generally how far the seat reacts to the steering and braking /acceleration and bumps , hence with circuit, usually a larger number is good, depending on how you like it. Rally a smaller number as usually you are steering hard and sharp and on and off the throttle hard and the idea is to "trick" the mind to think you are drifting and getting tossed around.
The percentage is purely how hard the force works. If the force feels right from the number, but you want to soften the effect, reduce percentage.

But then again, try some settings till you find what suits you.
With dirt games, I like is nasty.
With circuit, I like it softer in lateral and longitudinal , but good bumps.
Everyone designs profiles to suit them.

Good to see you've got it working!

About the guide: there is one, made by sirnoname, it can be found on the"documentation page:

Hi Florisk,
thanks for your link to documentation.. looking so pro and good documentation... if Xsim2 has such manuals in the beginning would be great.. Will definitely read it and move on to xsim3...

Hi pals would u be kind enough to advise how come now that i have all the 3 main forces acting perfectly - longitudinal, lateral and vertical, and the 3 collision forces working well, whenever i attempt to add the Pitch force so that when car is going up and down slope there is a tilting up and down motion...,when pitch force is added somehow the other logitudial forces and road feel force will suddenly stop working?

Thanks.

Can you make some video of that behavior along with some photos of what forces-effects you are using (and maybe the settings each effect)??

We are kind of trying to help you blindfolded!!
