Hi Speedy,

Nice project!

Do you have an estimate of the cost for this h-bridge?
Also can it drive 24V motors?

Hi Thanos ...
Thanks for your support at the first time .

the best price for it is 200 LE [Egyptian pound ] including every thing (the copper disk ,the fan ,the board ,... etc.) ... FYI [6 LE = 1 USD ]
That makes it around 34 USD for hardware . And the max time assembling it is 3hrs if you can DIY. ;)
I can list the prices in details if you like .
Yes sure 24V is fair enough if you are using the proper MOSFETs.

the driving IC's IR2110 for a half H-bridge connection as per the datasheets can operate the high side MOSFETs voltage up to 500V [IF MOSFETS are equivalent ] ...

and for the logical side for the signal is 5v isolated from the high side voltage is compatible with the AMC1.6/1.5 controller .
with some restrictions for coupling two IC's you can make Full H-Bridge driving circuit easily as you see in the pictures above .
you can find the datasheet for IC's here

it's easy now to go for it . using the IRFZ44N without any problems .

It looks cheap. The only problem I can see is the size of it. Maybe if it could be 10x10cm or less. With some double layer design I bet it could be as small as 5x5cm. There are cheap PCB services around but as the size gets bigger, so is the price.

for example:

5x5cm pcb cost is $1 ($10 for 10 pieces)
10x10cm cost is $2.5 ($25 for 10 pieces)
but
10x15cm cost is $7 !!! ($70 for 10 pieces)

You see the more size you add the more the cost goes up exponential...

I already have some h-bridges based in similar driver, the HIP4081AIPZ (a somewhat more expensive driver but its a full bridge driver). Was just trying to avoid using specialized chips like that if I can as they are more difficult to source. I'll give a try to my last design with optocouplers board in between and if that fails, I'll definitely have a closer look in designing a compact and cheap h-bridge for our needs here, that is if I can make it cost less than the pololu high power motor drivers...

PS. I have no idea what's going on with attachments. You should ask Floriske.

great job. Can I drive a 24V motor with 30A?
Do you have a manual for the conections to the microcontroller?

Is it possible to have an emergency stop control

I would like to use the Board for my robot lawn-mower ;-). So I need the emergency stop. I have to short the DC Motor to stop the blade.

Good day every one ...

I'm glade you liked it ... :D

This bridge can operate a DC motor up to 48V and can handle about 150A load current ... So, yes 24V motor is [ OK ] If you are using [ IRF3205 MOSFETs ] ...
This bridge is compatible with the [Tronic AMC 1.5/1.6 USB motor motion-controller] that is fully explained here

http://www.x-sim.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=132
and here
http://www.*.de/forum/tronic-s-amc-motor-motion-controller-with-pwm-servo-output-t559.html

All information for a quick peak to this controller and the connection pinout for the H-bridge [ The same as mine ] is into the last 3 or 4 pages of the following file

AMC_DSMhb_Manual.rar
(6.3 MiB) Downloaded 829 times

Also it can handle more voltage and amps with higher MOSFETS but the tracks on this board needs to be redesigned for more amps ... otherwise they will burn and go off ...

Mr. Kampfwurst : Pls. ...
I need to know how you're going to operate a lawn-mower with a micro controller that has a feedback, speed, and direction control with a motor controller like this ... [ what is the need for it ]? [ what is your actual problem ]?.
