MS-X-R, my 2 DOF motion simulator

Postby Riton » Fri 7. Sep 2012, 18:15

Hi!

My adventure in building dynamic simulators began in 2007.
Then I discovered xsim, this fabulous software!
I have to thank some members for the support, sharing, using ...
Thanks for Xsim, thanks, for help!

I tested some commercial simulators for a wider experience than my own simulator, and I continue today to broaden my experience and knowledge in this field.
It is important to see what can be achieved as a result of another type of simulator.
The differences are important, different concepts, we must test for an idea.
This is even more necessary to know if the result of its own simulator DIY is good or not!

I started in the dynamic simulator driven by pneumatic cylinders.
Unfortunately, despite many efforts, the result was not satisfactory.
So I abandoned this concept and I switched to an electric motor.

After much work I finished my first dynamic simulator!
Today it is fully functional!
For a short time, I did change the electronic card with AMC Thanos

I'm working on another project, rather two other projects, I would present you as soon.
the simulator is "Baby MS-XR" and "Ultimate MS-XR"
I have already spoken of the project on the old forum

Finally we get to see more than just a thumbnail ;)

That's one hell of a sim you've got. Great work!

Hi Riton,
Great looking Rig you have there! I see that you have used the Velleman board along with the AMC board. I am constructing a simulator with the Velleman 110N and a Sabertooth controller board. I have initially proved the movement within X-sim using two wiper motors and am pleased with the results. But before I continue with larger motors, I was wondering how you found your simulator to be, considering that there have been posts recently about how slow the velleman board is, and how you would only use it for an "arcade" style simulator. Yours seems plenty fast to me! Tell me what you think please, and if you are thinking of any improvements.

Cheers,
Mike :)

Hi!
Good job!!!!
Why is vibration in AMC controller and the Velleman VM110 they missing?
What angles achieved?
Will be described in detail manufacturing simulation work?

Thank you for your compliments!

I translated with Googe, it is not easy to understand everything.
I'll try to answer.

I made a post on the old forum, I'll put pictures of the construction.
It's a bit complicated, I have to resize all my photos, they are too big for the gallery.

The angle of the simulator is 17 °.
it is a personal choice, I think it is enough.
but it would be possible to have 20/22 °

To vibration:
course, engines and velleman card or card Thanos allow vibrations.
I have a video that shows the vibration with only engines.
But performance in vibration with a truly superior with BTK LFE!
small vibrations are not done with the engines.
one device can not give a good result over the entire range of effect.
it is a bit like a speaker, a 3-way speaker is able to give a larger range
one boomer

I speak simulator 2 ways: a channel for the movement, and a channel for vibrations.
the two together are perfect!
it is difficult to move a simulator on a large amplitude and keep vibrations in the same time with a single device, motor or cylinder.

Why do you use the calculation of vibration? What you get from it?

the rule is to visualize the movement.
it is to make visible more easily simulator performance on small movement.
